Different reading and writing skills are taught interactively in the lessons. Phonics strategies are also introduced in a systematic way throughout the programme. - Native English-speaking Teacher (NET): Mr. Adam
My name is Mr Adam. I am from South Africa. I originally planned to come teach in Hong Kong for one year but after getting a taste of the rich culture, delicious food and the never ending list of activities to do in Hong Kong, I decided I could not leave. So here I am seven years later!
I love the outdoors so at weekends you can usually find me running, hiking or relaxing with a good book at the beach.
Teaching is my passion and I love working with children! As a teacher, I am very patient, kind, and welcoming. I build rapport easily with my students. I believe education is a passport to a student’s future and I do everything I can to help each of my students to reach their full potential both in and outside of the classroom. I get immense joy from seeing my students progress through the years and I can’t wait to teach you guys this year!

My name is Tinaye Chirema. My parents are from Zimbabwe, the southern part of Africa. Most of my family members currently reside in Australia. I did my university studies at Midlands State University and further pursued my teaching certificate with an American World TEFL accrediting Commission.
I have a passion for kids and I have been teaching as a NET teacher in mainland China for 5 years. I then moved to Hong Kong in 2021 and I’m now staying here with my family. I really enjoy teaching children as well as helping them to develop their social, emotional and literacy skills. I also enjoy the lifestyle and culture in Hong Kong. My hobbies are reading, playing drums, playing the piano and traveling. I’m looking forward to having a great time teaching you this year!
- Native English-speaking Teacher (NET): Mr. Gavin
Hello! I’m Mr. Gavin, and I come from South Africa. I was excited to have the chance to relocate to Hong Kong and immerse myself in the local culture for over 5 years.
In my spare time, you can find me performing on stage, composing, writing, or enjoying the great outdoors with friends. Recently, I was privileged to receive my first Hollywood award for composing music for a feature film in Hong Kong.
I have been a professional teacher, actor, pianist, and composer for more than 15 years. I have taught a variety of students from university level to primary school all around the world. It’s thrilling to share all my passions with every student who walks into my classroom. My holistic teaching style is not only fun and engaging, but it also enables students to thrive, whether they are shy or confident. I am eager to share all my knowledge with each and every student!
